Southaven Tree Services
We are so excited that spring is just around the corner. As we are now in early February, the occasional extra warm day will give us that wonderful feeling of springtime. The groundhog says that spring will come early this year and we hope that he is correct but honestly trusting a groundhog who only has a 39% success rating doesn't give us much hope.
At Southaven Tree Services, we work year around so if you need work done, please call us anytime. Once the weather does warm up even more, our phone stays very busy and so do we. It's important to get us on the horn so we can come out and give you a free estimate. We are a no pressure company so if all you need is an estimate, that's not a problem. If you need the work done, we'll be happy to do it.
Our family service oriented company will treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve. We know you work hard for your money and once you get our estimate we are confident you'll hire us when you're ready. With spring arriving soon we highly recommend you do some spring tree maintenance. If you didn't get your leaves swept up around the truck of your tree in the fall, now is the time to do it. You'll want your tree to be able to breathe as it gets ready to bloom.
When you do spring prep, we also recommend you inspect your tree or trees very closely to see if you have some dead limbs or fungus growing. We can come out and inspect your trees for you if that helps. When we inspect trees, we are looking for signs of disease and decay which can be hard to determine, but our years of experience will help us inform you properly.
At that point, if there is disease or tree rot noted, you can decide to have us do the work or depending on how bad the issue is, you may want to hold off on doing any work. Once a tree gets infected with a disease, it must be treated properly or you'll lose the entire tree. That's where we can really be of help. We hope to hear from you if you need a tree inspection.
A friendly reminder that we love to trim trees and keep them healthy, but if you need a tree removed, we'll do that too. We have the resources and man power to get the job done quickly and safely. We can even remove your tree stump or if you choose, leave it there. We also can take away all of the tree debris or if you choose, we'll leave it for you. Some of our customers like to keep some of the wood so they can use it for firewood.
Thanks again for visiting our website and we look forward to serving you in and around the Southaven area.

Have you ever wondered about what a normal day is like for a tree climber? If yes, read on. If no, you should still read because it took me 30 minutes to write this for those who have always wondered what it's like during a normal day for a tree trimmer.
I get up and roll out of bed at 5am pretty much every day. In the winter time when it's cold, I'll sleep in until about 7am because it's still dark outside until then. For the most part, my equipment is loaded up and cleaned from the prior work day. The crew arrives at my house around 7am as that's about the time I'm finished with my breakfast. It's bacon or sausage and eggs every day at my house. I love toast too but it's not good for me so I usually pass.
We normally head out to the job site around 7:15am so if one of my crew isn't here by then, he better find another way to the job site and he better be there by 7:30am if he expects to work that day. We value our customers and their time is valuable to we expect everyone to be on time every day. We only hire the best of the best so it's never really been an issue but they know the expectations. We show up to the job site on time so arriving at my house in the morning is very important.
When we arrive at the jobsite, we get to work right away so we can get out of our customers way as quickly as possible. There is something about a group of guys that depend on each other that's very special. They don't work as individuals, they work as a team. We are now locked in on the days mission and get to work right away. It's hard work but we love it. I'm the main climber and have been climbing trees since I was a kid. We have the equipment to get the job done no matter if it's a large or small job.
Within about 30 minutes our first climber heads up the tree to get started. He goes pretty high but is very experienced so we don't worry to much about him. He is a very safe climber and helps us get the ropes up high. We have had jobs where we have had to climb several hundred feet up. It's hard work but none of my guys signed up for a day at the office so I don't hear complaints. I love my crew. Our guys will spend the early hours getting the tree limbs down and then we chop down the entire tree. Of course if we are just trimming the tree for the customer and not removing it, we certainly wouldn't cut it down. But there's more!!! If our customer is wanting the tree removed, we go ahead and chop it down. If our customer wants to keep the wood, we cut it up into smaller pieces so they can handle it. If not, we'll chip it up and take it away. We'll also clean up the area before we pack up and leave.
Our days are never the same and each job is different and that's the way we like it. Feel free to give us a call today and we'll get you a free estimate. We're family owned and proud of it.
